TACHI PALACE FIGHTS 9 RESULTS: Ian McCall Shines in Main Event, Fabricio Camoes and Gerald Harris Win - 5/6/11

TACHI PALACE FIGHTS 9: THE CONTENDERS was held Friday, May 6, 2011, outdoors at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, California.

In the main event, Ian "Uncle Creepy" McCall won a dominant decision over the previously undefeated Dustin Ortiz. McCall continually stuffed Ortiz's takedown attempts, outclassed him on the feet, and bruised the ginger's legs with repeated kicks. McCall will next fight for the 125-pound title against Tachi Flyweight Champion Darrell "The Mongoose" Montague.

In the co-main event, Isaac De Jesus knocked out submission specialist Russ Miura in the first round. De Jesus failed to make weight for this fight, which was supposed to be him defending the Tachi Featherweight Championship. Instead, De Jesus was stripped of the title, but this fight remained a 5-round bout and had the on-weight Miura won, he would've been awarded the title. The over-weight De Jesus won the battle, but he did not win the war. The Tachi 145-pound strap is now vacant.

WRECK MMA 7 RESULTS: John Fraser and Brad Cardinal Win Titles at UNSTOPPABLE in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada - 5/6/11

WRECK MMA 7: UNSTOPPABLE was held Friday, May 6, 2011, at the Casino Lac Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. It was an easy night for the ringside judges. There were no decisions. All 11 fights ended before the final bell.

In the main event, John "Haggis Basher" Fraser used a north-south choke to elicit a third-round tapout from the previously undefeated Eric Wilson. With this submission victory, Fraser captured the vacant Wreck Bantamweight Championship.

In the other title fight, Brad "The Bonesaw" Cardinal also won a vacant title over a previously unbeaten opponent by third-round submission. Cardinal choked out Jesse "The Ghost" Gross early in the third stanza to win the Wreck Lightweight Championship. Gross chose to go to sleep for a technical submission rather than tap out.

IFC 1 RESULTS: Headcases Paulo Filho and Hermes Franca Lose, Carlos Prater and Ronys Torres Win in Brazil - 4/29/11

The inaugural generically-named INTERNATIONAL FIGHTER CHAMPIONSHIP was held Friday, April 29, 2011, in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. Coverage of this event kind of fell through the cracks here at MMAmadman, but never fear, our fight reporting vigilance is unrelenting.

In the main event, Ronny Marki Sales Da Silva aka Ronny Markes scored a huge upset win over the legendary and off-kilter Paulo Filho, a PRIDE and WEC veteran. Until late-2010, Filho had only ever lost once in his career, which was his EPIC meltdown against Chael Sonnen at WEC 36. In October 2010, Filho dropped a decision to Marcos Rogerio "Pezao" De Lima. Now Filho has lost for the third time, once again by decision, this time to top Brazilian prospect and fast-rising MMA star Ronny Markes.

Two of the Midwest's top young MMA prospects improved their records to 4-0 with first-round victories at CCCW's Fight Night 3. Former college football quarterback Dustin Jacoby, who now trains full-time at Finney's HIT Squad, scored a first-round TKO win over Oscar Glover. Lance Benoist, unbeaten as an amateur fighter, remained unbeaten as a professional fighter with a first-round chokeout of CCCW veteran Ryne Vincent.

LONG BEACH FIGHT NIGHT 12 RESULTS: Main Event Ends with Disqualification, Joe Murphy Submits Maurice Eazel - 5/1/11

LONG BEACH FIGHT NIGHT 12 was held Sunday, May 1, 2011, at the Hall of Champions Gymnasium on the Long Beach City College campus in California.

In the main event, Vince Guzman got himself disqualified for doing the stanky leg upside Thor Skancke's head. With both fighters on the ground, Skancke was posturing up from Guzman's guard to throw down punches when Guzman kicked him in the head. The referee ruled Skancke still on the mat when the kick landed, thus making it an illegal kick to a grounded opponent. Skancke was unable to continue, so the fight was called and he was awarded the DQ victory.

Joe Murphy, who fights out of Kings MMA under Rafael Cordeiro, upped his record to 3-0 with a win over perpetual loser Maurice Eazel. Believe it or not, Eazel, who has currently lost 4 straight fights, has strung together a pair of 3-fight winning streaks in his career, despite only having won 7 times amongst 14 losses. Do the math. Is your mind blown? While Eazel's MMA record is shabby, there's no question that when the man is on, he's on.

SHOGUN FIGHTS IV was held Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.

In the super heavyweight main event, journeyman Steven "The Panda" Banks landed a headkick in the first round that broke 300-pound local fighter Ryan McGowan's nose. McGowan was unable to breathe through his nose, but continued fighting as blood leaked out of his nostrils and down the back of his throat.

With just 11 seconds left in the second round, the fight was stopped with both fighters on the ground and Steven Banks showering down elbows and punches to the head of Ryan McGowan. After the fight, the two big men were covered in McGowan's blood and McGowan was taken to the hospital.

BRACE FOR WAR 8 RESULTS: Jay Cobain and Brad Thompson Win Tournament Fights in Brisbane, Australia - 4/30/11

BRACE FOR WAR VIII was held Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Mansfield Tavern in Mansfield, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

In the main event, Jay "The Freight Train" Cobain submitted the previously undefeated Sambo "Sexy Sam" Celikovic. Cobain struggled for the first few years of his MMA career but has now won 2 out of his last 3 fights.

In the other quarterfinal fight, Brad Thompson improved his record to an even 4-4 by catching Fredrico Blum with an upkick, then finishing off the winless fighter with punches.

The final 2 quarterfinal fights will go down August 27 at BRACE 10, with Dan "The Riot" Hyatt vs Jon "Lethal" Leven and Corey "Major" Nelson vs Benny "Blanco" Alloway.

UFC 129 RESULTS: Georges St. Pierre and Jose Aldo Defend Titles, Lyoto Machida Crane Kick KO's Randy Couture - 4/30/11

UFC 129: ST-PIERRE VS SHIELDS was held Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with 55,724 fans in attendance. For the first time in UFC history, every single fight was available to watch live. The main card aired live on PPV, 2 preliminary bouts aired live on Spike TV, and the remaining 5 undercard fights streamed live on Facebook.com/UFC.

In the main event, 3-time Canadian Athlete of the Year Georges St. Pierre successfully defended his UFC Welterweight Championship with a 5-round unanimous decision victory over former EliteXC and Strikeforce champion Jake Shields. Coming into this fight, St. Pierre had won 30 consecutive rounds. That streak ended against Shields, who won 2 rounds on 2 judges' scorecards. Shields showed improved stand-up and bloodied St. Pierre's face, however, he never had St. Pierre in any sort of real trouble, whereas St. Pierre had Shields stumbling from punches on several occasions. In his post-fight interview, St. Pierre expressed hesitation when asked about a possible future superfight with UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.

KOTC CANADA: MILE ZERO RESULTS: UFC Hall of Famer Dan Severn Fails to Achieve 100th Win Against Ryan Fortin - 4/29/11

KING OF THE CAGE CANADA 51: MILE ZERO was held Friday, April 29, 2011, at the EnCana Centre in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada.

In the main event, Canadian welterweight Garett "One-Two" Davis submitted journeyman Gabe Rivas, who is currently on a wretched 9-fight losing streak. Four of Rivas' losses have come in the past 50 days. Overall, Rivas has lost 12 out of his last 13 fights. His last win was in March 2008, and before that, his last win was in late-2006. At this point, Rivas is a certifiable jabroni who travels around to small shows and loses to local fighters.

In the co-main event, old school UFC Superfight Champion Dan "The Beast" Severn was looking for win #100. No thanks to former MFC heavyweight Ryan "The Vanilla Gorilla" Fortin, Severn will have to wait a bit longer to achieve this remarkable feat. Fortin represented a serious step up in competition from the local yokels looking to make a name for themselves that Severn normally fights. The Canadian Fortin spoiled Severn's night and ended his 10-fight winning streak with a third-round TKO, Vanilla Gorilla style.
