KING OF THE CAGE: KINGPIN was held Saturday, August 27, 2011, at the Lubbock Civic Center in Lubbock, TX.

In the main event, Tim "The Dirty Bird" Means successfully defended his KOTC Junior Welterweight Championship with a quick submission win over Cody Pfister. PROELITE 1 RESULTS: Kendall Grove Quickly Chokes Out Joe Riggs, Andrei Arlovski Avoids Getting KO'd - 8/27/11

ProElite, the former promoter of EliteXC, Cage Rage and Icon Sport, returned under new ownership for their inaugural self-titled PROELITE 1, held Saturday, August 27, 2011, at the Neil S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. The event streamed live on

In the main event, The Ultimate Fighter 3 winner Kendall "Da Spyder" Grove choked out fellow former UFC fighter Joe "Diesel" Riggs in under a minute. Grove was fighting for the first time since being released from the UFC after more than half a decade in the world's leading fight organization. Back-to-back losses to Demian Maia and Tim Boetsch set the stage for Grove's UFC departure. Being a TUF winner, the UFC would surely like to have Grove back under the Zuffa fold, so another win or two and Grove should be back fighting in the Octagon.
