UFC 135 RESULTS: Jon Jones Shines Against Rampage Jackson, Josh Koscheck Likely Retires Matt Hughes - 9/24/11

ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP 135: JONES VS RAMPAGE was held Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

In the main event, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jonny "Bones" Jones successfully defended his title for the first time with a dominant win over former champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Jon Jones broke Rampage down over the course of the first 3 rounds using an assortment of high-level striking. Mentally and physically defeated, Rampage submitted to a rear-naked choke in the fourth round. Jones fought a near-perfect fight, assaulting Rampage over and over again, and when Rampage would go to retaliate, Jones would already be gone. Rampage is simply too lumbering to be able to compete with a fighter as elusive and effective as Jones. Hell, there may not be a 205-pound man alive who can.

UFC 135 BONUSES: $75K Bonus Payouts for Jon Jones, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, Josh Koscheck and Nate Diaz - 9/24/11

The UFC awarded a total of $300,000 in bonus money to 4 fighters for performances at UFC 135: JONES VS RAMPAGE, held Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

After every UFC event, Zuffa officials pay out bonuses to fighters based on exceptional performances. These bonuses are paid in addition to the contracted salary or fighter purse of each honored athlete.
