Canada's theScore sports network presented their second Score Fighting Series event, SFS 2: DOERKSEN VS COOPER, on Friday, October 14, 2011, at the Hamilton Place Theatre in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

In the main event, Bellator veteran Brett "Fudoshin" Cooper took out a legend in former UFC middleweight Joe "El Dirte" Doerksen. Unable to get the fight to the ground, and outclassed on the feet by Cooper, Doerksen succumbed to strikes near the end of the first round.

William "Leon" Romero, Alex Ricci and Tristan Johnson picked up big wins over solid opponents. Eric Moon blanked Rory McDonell on the scorecards in a one-sided beatdown. Cory Houston scored the only submission of the night. In the opening fight, featuring two MMA-debuting fighters, Adam Assenza found himself on the ass end of a split decision against Jason Meisel.

BELLATOR FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 53 was held Saturday, October 8, 2011, at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma. The event featured the semifinals of the Bellator Season 5 Welterweight Tournament.

Former UFC fighter Ben "Killa B" Saunders and former MFC fighter Douglas "The Phenom" Lima advanced to the finals of the 170-pound tourney, which will be held at Bellator 57 in Rama, Ontario, Canada. Saunders submitted veteran Brazilian fighter Luis "Sapo" Santos (husband of Carina Damm) and Lima knocked out Chris "The Cleveland Assassin" Lozano, whose C-town assassin skills were weakened in Oklahoma.

Ronnie "Kid Ninja" Mann triangle choked Kenny "The Tooth Fairy" Foster to qualify for next season's featherweight tournament. Thiago "Big Monster" Santos earned the right to fill-in for Mike "300" Hayes in the current heavyweight tournament, should Hayes not be able to continue due to an eye injury he suffered against Neil Grove in the quarterfinals. Giva "The Arm Collector" Santana collected yet another arm, this time from the downtrodden Darryl Cobb.

CFA 03: HOWARD VS OLSON was held Sunday, October 9, 2011, at the U.S. Century Bank Arena in Miami, Florida.

In the main event, former UFC welterweight John "Doomsday" Howard won a clean sweep unanimous decision over journeyman Dennis Olson. For the duration of 3 rounds, Howard beat up Olson on the feet, while successfully fending off the Gracie Barra New Hampshire fighter's takedown attempts. Howard was recently released from the UFC after 3 straight losses. Howard broke that streak with this victory, his first fight outside of the UFC in over 3 years.

In the co-main event, Miami's own Mike "Wolverine" Rio took Minnesotan Zach "The Juice" Juusola to school with a 1:01 beatdown. Yoislandy "Cuba" Izquierdo and Patrick Cenoble advanced to the finals of the Lightweight Tournament.

UFC 136 RESULTS: Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo Retain Titles, Chael Sonnen Earns a Second Chance in Houston - 10/8/11

UFC 136: EDGAR VS MAYNARD 3 was held Saturday, October 8, 2011, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The main card aired live on PPV. Two preliminary bouts aired live on Spike TV, and the remaining undercard streamed live on the UFC's official Facebook page.

In the main event, UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie "The Answer" Edgar finally figured out the Gray Maynard puzzle. After losing his only fight to Maynard early in his career, Edgar fought to a draw with "The Bully" to kick off 2011 at UFC 125 on New Year's Day. Similar to their last fight, Maynard tagged Edgar early and often in the first round, but could not finish, and ended up losing the momentum to Edgar in the second round. Edgar continued to build steam in this fight, until he was able to finish off Maynard in the fourth round with punches.
