M-1 Global presented M-1 CHALLENGE 30: ZAVUROV VS ENOMOTO on Friday, December 9, 2011, at The Hangar in Costa Mesa, California. The main card aired live on Showtime.

In the main event, Yasubey Enomoto won the M-1 Global Welterweight Championship with a last-minute submission victory over Shamil "Champion" Zavurov in an entertaining war of attrition. With the fight even on the judges' scorecards going into the fifth and final round, both fighters really started to show exhaustion. Zavurov had earned his earlier rounds by scoring takedowns against Enomoto, but in the final round, Enomoto completely shut down Zavurov's repeated takedown attempts. With each failed takedown attempt, Zavurov looked more and more tired. Finally, with less than a minute to go in the fight, Enomoto slickly countered a lethargic shot with a guillotine choke. Zavurov tapped, and Enomoto was crowned the new champ.
