MiddleEasy went through the painful process of confirming the past work of The Ultimate Fighter Live on FX (TUF 15) cast member Dakota Cochrane as internet video star "Danny" from the gay site Sean Cody. It seems the appropriately named Cochrane had quite an extensive career under the unnecessary alias Danny, most of which was posted in 2007.
A simple Google search reveals more of Dakota Cochrane than most straight guys are ever going to want to see, so it seems safe to assume that the UFC was made aware of Cochrane's past, unlike former Octagon Girl Chandella Powell, who apparently did not reveal her past work as Mariah Ashton before she was hired.
Regardless of anyone's opinion of his past, Dakota Cochrane has earned this TUF opportunity in the cage with 11 MMA victories, including a huge upset win over former WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner at Titan Fighting 20.
For Dakota Cochrane, the gigs likely paid well, although it will be hard to ever escape being associated with this past, especially in the fight game. And especially the video with 4 other guys (!) titled "F-ckfest 6". In real life, Cochrane is the father of two children and is currently engaged to a woman, his longtime girlfriend, so he is straight... not that there'd be anything wrong with that if he wasn't.
2/29 UPDATE: Dakota Cochrane has confirmed the rumors. Cochrane tells MMAFighting that it was a gay-for-pay situation, and that he performed in the videos for around $80,000 in compensation while he was in college at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Cochrane was upfront with the UFC and FX about his dirty laundry during the audition process for TUF 15, so it's good to see both organizations took the progressive route on this one. After all, it is a reality show.
