The Ultimate Fighting Championship presented their annual New Year's Eve weekend event, UFC 155: Dos Santos vs Velasquez 2, on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In the main event, Cain Velasquez dominated Junior Dos Santos for 25 minutes to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship for the second time. Velasquez originally won the title in late-2010 with a first-round TKO victory over Brock Lesnar. Velasquez lost the title a year later when he was knocked out by Junior Dos Santos in just over a minute. Now, 2 years removed from his first title victory, Velasquez is once again officially the best heavyweight fighter on the planet.
The PPV portion of UFC 155 started off slow with the first 3 fights of the main card failing to deliver, but then Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon more than made up for the preceding lack of entertainment with one of the best fights of the year.
