MFC 32 RESULTS: Antonio McKee and Brian Cobb Both Get Fired, Wilson Gouveia Breaks 3-Year Winless Streak - 1/27/12

Maximum Fighting Championship 32: Bitter Rivals was held Friday, January 27, 2012, at the Mayfield Inn Trade and Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The main card aired live on HDNet.

In the main event, former UFC fighter Wilson Gouveia finally won a f-cking fight. After 3 straight losses over the span of more than 3 years, Gouveia made an impressive return against Canadian fan favorite Dwayne "D-Bomb" Lewis. Gouveia tactically broke down Lewis with disciplined striking that included lethal legs kicks. Lewis, who also works long hours at a day job, was outclassed by the full-time fighter Gouveia, who desperately needed this win.

One-time UFC lightweight fighter Antonio "Mandingo" McKee was supposed to defend his MFC Lightweight Championship against Brian Cobb, but McKee missed weight by a whopping 7 pounds! The fight was changed to a non-title bout.

PROELITE 3 RESULTS: Kendall Grove and Sara McMann Outpoint Minowaman and Hitomi Akano in Hawaii - 1/21/12

PRO ELITE 3: DA SPYDER VS MINOWAMAN was held Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Neil S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, HI. The main card aired live on HDNet.

In the main event, The Ultimate Fighter 3 winner Kendall "Da Spyder" Grove cruised to a clean sweep unanimous decision victory over Ikuhisa "Minowaman" Minowa. This is Grove's second win in ProElite since being released from the UFC after back-to-back losses in mid-2011. Japan's giant killer had little to offer Grove, a serious step-up in competition with a 9-inch height and 7.5-inch reach advantage. Grove dominated Minowa for fifteen minutes, but disappointingly was unable to finish the hardheaded Japanese bruiser.
