VIDEO: Urijah Faber Book - The California Kid Co-Authors 'The Laws of the Ring'

Former WEC featherweight champion and current UFC bantamweight number one contender Urijah "The California Kid" Faber is releasing his first book. Faber has co-penned The Laws of the Ring with Tim Keown, who has also co-written books with MLB All-Star Josh Hamilton, NBA legend Dennis Rodman and PAWN STAR's Rick Harrison.

The book is set for release on May 22, 2012, but can be pre-ordered now at Amazon. Here's a description of the book, followed by a preview video:
What's your passion?

For Urijah "The California Kid" Faber, fighting is not just a thrill but an act of self-expression. From his first fight in the outlaw MMA days of 2003, Urijah recognized his passion for the sport—and since then the former WEC World Featherweight Champion, now fighting as a top bantamweight in the UFC, has been living his dream. As one of the most exciting, charismatic fighters today, with a loyal following in the MMA community, Urijah is well known for his inventive fight style, cutting-edge approach to fitness, and California swag.

In The Laws of the Ring, Urijah relates the full story of how he has made a career out of a highly demanding sport. Even outside the ring, his passion for fighting has motivated him to do so much more—to open his own fitness center, create a sports clothing line, lead a fight team, and recently to coach up-and-coming fighters in the television show The Ultimate Fighter. But even the California Kid couldn't do it all without constant hard work, healthy habits, and a whole lot of positive thinking. With his thirty-six "Laws of Power," Urijah shares the life lessons he's learned along his unconventional path, drawing from personal experience to give readers a sense of life inside the ring—and show how to take those lessons into their own worlds.

Part manifesto for success, personal journey, and meditation on a well-lived life, The Laws of the Ring is filled with funny, provocative, and inspirational stories for a colorful glimpse into the rise of a young superstar, and the philosophy behind his accomplishments. With clear-eyed perspective and down-to-earth advice, Urijah zeroes in on getting the life you want—and living it to the fullest.

Urijah Faber's book is available for pre-order at Amazon in both Hardcover and Kindle Edition. The hardcover is currently 34% off the cover price!

INVICTA FC 1 RESULTS: Marloes Coenen Rules at All-Female MMA Event - 4/28/12

Invicta FC 1: Coenen vs Ruyssen 2 was held Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Historic Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS. This was the inaugural event for the women's mixed martial arts promotion.

In the main event, former Strikeforce women's bantamweight champion "The Golden Girl of Golden Glory" Marloes Coenen won a clean sweep unanimous decision over French fighter Romy Ruyssen. Coenen has been fighting since the beginning of women's MMA and is a true pioneer of the sport. With less than a third of Coenen's pro fights under her belt, Ruyssen is still very early into her MMA career. The only other loss on her record is also to Coenen. In this rematch, Ruyssen lost every round and was also deducted a point in the first round for holding the fence while kneeing Coenen.

In the co-main event, former Bellator fighters Jessica Penne and Lisa Ellis put on a grappling clinic before Penne bloodied up Ellis and finished her off with punches on the ground.
