In the main event, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jonny "Bones" Jones successfully defended his 205-pound title with a fourth-round submission victory over former light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort. Jon Jones has now become the first man since UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell to defend the 205-pound title four times, and is one title defense shy of tying Tito Ortiz's all-time record of five consecutive light heavyweight title defenses.

In the co-main event, underdog Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson, billed as the fastest fighter in the UFC, captured the inaugural UFC Flyweight Championship with a split decision victory over Joseph Benavidez.

UFC 152 was a night chalked full of underdog victories. An amazing 8 of the 12 fights ended with the odds-on favorite losing.
