UFC 144 JAPAN RESULTS: Ben Henderson Wins UFC Lightweight Title - 2/25/12

The Ultimate Fighting Championship held UFC 144: Edgar vs Henderson on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the legendary Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Because of the time difference, this event was actually held in Japan on 2/26/12.

The main card aired live on PPV. The undercard aired live on FX, expect for the opening bout, which streamed live on the UFC's official Facebook page.

In the main event, Ben "Smooth" Henderson won the UFC Lightweight Championship after a high-paced, 25-minute encounter of artistic violence with Frankie "The Answer" Edgar. While Edgar only won 1 out of 5 rounds on two judges scorecards, the action was close enough that Edgar fans are going to be clamoring for an immediate rematch, as Edgar himself obliged after winning the title from BJ Penn in a close fight.
