BELLATOR 84 RESULTS: Alexander Volkov Wins Vacant Heavyweight Title, Felice Herrig Cruises to Victory - 12/14/12

Bellator Fighting Championships presented Bellator 84: Hale vs Volkov on Friday, December 14, 2012, at The Venue at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana. This event served as the seventh season finale and will be the final episode to air on MTV2 before Bellator moves over to Spike TV in 2013.

Alexander "Drago" Volkov won the vacant Bellator Heavyweight Championship in the main event, the finals of the Bellator Season 7 Heavyweight Tournament. The Russian Volkov ploddingly outpointed the American Richard "Rare Breed" Hale over the course of a seemingly never-ending 25 minutes.

The original co-main event was scrapped at the last minute when it was discovered that 20-year-old lightweight tournament finalist Marcin Held would not be allowed to enter the casino to fight because of his age. Indiana law requires people to be 21 to enter a casino, which apparently also includes the entertainment venue for the entertainers. How Held could've been scheduled for this event and no one from Bellator or the Horseshoe Casino realized this fact until the day of the event is mind-boggling. That is until you consider the dubious decision-making that has gone on in the past in Bellator, and then it's not all that surprising. Hopefully, the switchover to Spike TV will bring with it some new officials to Bellator who aren't constantly asleep at the wheel.

The biggest winners at Bellator 84 were the male fans, who were treated to Felice Herrig's sexy, self-designed kilt shorts. WMMA's best ass was on full display for the better part of 15 minutes as Herrig dominated "Little" Patricia Vidonic.

BELLATOR 80 RESULTS: Alexander Volkov and Rad Martinez Advance to HW and FW Tournament Finals on MTV2 - 11/9/12

Bellator Fighting Championships presented Bellator 80: Warren vs Evinger on Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The main card of this event (Episode 7 of Season 7) aired live on MTV2.

In the main event, former Bellator featherweight champion Joe Warren made a successful return to bantamweight against an overmatched Owen Evinger, brother of WMMA star Tonya Evinger. Warren flirted with 135-pounds before, but has now made a permanent move back to bantamweight after suffering a brutal knockout loss to Pat Curran at 145-pounds.

Alexander Volkov advanced to the finals of the Bellator Season 7 Heavyweight Tournament with a last-second knockout of Vinicius "Spartan" Queiroz at the end of the second round. The finish came after referee James Warring, a former pro boxer, inexplicably stood the fighters up from the ground after just mere seconds.

The Rocky Balboa adversary-inspired Russian heavyweight Alexander "Drago" Volkov will fittingly fight American Richard Hale, a real-life Rocky, for the heavyweight tournament title at the Bellator 84 season finale.

Rising star Rad Martinez looked excellent in outpointing MMA veteran Wagnney Fabiano over the course of 15 minutes to advance to the finals of the Bellator Season 7 Featherweight Tournament. Martinez will lock horns with fellow top 145-pound prospect Shahbulat Shamhalaev in the tourney final at Bellator 83.
