Full fight highlights from the main event of UFC 159: Jones vs Sonnen, held Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon "Bones" Jones successfully retained his 205-pound title with a first-round TKO victory over Chael Sonnen. Had Jones not been able to finish Sonnen, he likely would have lost his title in-between rounds due to an injury TKO. The Ultimate Fighting Championship presented UFC 159: Jones vs Sonnen on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.

On a night that saw two fights end early due to eyepokes, and one fight end due to a gruesome dislocated thumb, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones suffered a broken toe in the first round against Chael Sonnen. Despite his mangled toe, Jones was able to finish Sonnen with strikes with just 27 seconds left in the round. Had Sonnen been able to survive until the bell, then he almost certainly would have won the fight by injury TKO and become the new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. After the fight, Sonnen hinted at possible retirement, which is likely given his full-time gig as the co-host of the weekly show UFC Tonight on FUEL TV with Kenny Florian.

Here's a GIF of Jones' toe breaking. Be warned, it is graphic.
