The Ultimate Fighting Championship presented UFC on FX 8: Belfort vs Rockhold on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Arena Jaragua in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil.

In the main event, UFC legend Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort continued his late-career resurgence with a 'Knockout of the Year' contender spinning heel kick delivered directly to the jaw of former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold. BJJ demigod Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, another former Strikeforce 185-pound champion, choked Chris Camozzi unconscious in the co-main event.

American Nik Lentz was the only non-Brazilian fighter to win at UFC on FX 8. Seven other Americans, a Canadian and a Russian all lost their bouts to Brazilian fighters.

STRIKEFORCE: ROCKHOLD VS KENNEDY RESULTS: Rockhold Fends Off Kennedy, Marquardt KO's Woodley - 7/14/12

Strikeforce: Rockhold vs Kennedy was held Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. The event aired live on Showtime. Strikeforce is the sister MMA promotion of the UFC under Zuffa.

In the main event, Luke Rockhold successfully defended his Strikeforce Middleweight Championship with a workmanlike performance over the course of 25 minutes against Tim Kennedy. The active duty U.S. Army Ranger Kennedy proved too undersized and too overmatched against the American Kickboxing Academy phenom Rockhold.

While the main event title fight may have been tedious, it followed a barnburner of a co-main event for the vacant Strikeforce Welterweight Championship. Strikeforce veteran Tyron Woodley has developed a reputation as a boring fighter. On this night, he was part of one hell of an entertaining fight against former UFC title contender Nate Marquardt.

Unfortunately for Woodley, he was on the wrong end of a brutal, highlight reel knockout in what was his most entertaining fight. After 3 rounds of back-and-forth action, the fourth round brought one of the best KO sequences of the year. Marquardt clipped Woodley with a couple of nasty elbows and finished him off with a lethal left hook and a devastating right uppercut, which Marquardt then coolly walked away from as Woodley crumpled to the ground. Nate Marquardt is back in a big way now in Strikeforce after being disgracefully ousted from the UFC last year.
