BELLATOR 120 RESULTS: Rampage Takes Decision over King Mo, Will Brooks Upsets Michael Chandler - 5/17/14

Bellator MMA Championship Tournaments presented their first-ever PPV offering, Bellator 120: Rampage vs King Mo, on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi, a suburb of Memphis, Tennessee.

In the main event, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson scored a controversial unanimous decision over archrival Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal to win the Bellator Season 10 Light Heavyweight Tournament and a title shot against Bellator's reigning 205-pound champion Emanuel Newton. Jackson and Newton are training partners, and Jackson has previously stated that he does not want to fight Newton, so Bellator is left with an awkward situation. But not nearly as awkward as the situation created by new Bellator Interim Lightweight Champion Will Brooks' upset victory over Bellator poster boy Michael Chandler in the co-main event. The former 155-pound champion Chandler was originally set to headline this event in a rubber match against current Bellator Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez, but the champ was forced to withdraw due to a concussion suffered in training. Now Chandler, who has a long-term Bellator contract, is out of the title picture; and Alvarez, who will become an unrestricted free agent after his next fight, will be heavily favored in a lower-profile fight against Will Brooks. But then again, this is Bellator we're talking about, so Chandler could end up fighting for the title regardless.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz, who had won just one of his last nine fights, choked out current Bellator Middleweight Champion Alexander Shlemenko. The champ moved up in weight for this novelty fight that was supposed to be a gimme, but ended up backfiring big-time for Bellator. Ortiz will get little credit for having beaten a much smaller opponent, while Shlemenko's stock will suffer a significant devaluation due to this embarrassing loss. The string of bad luck results started with the already-ran Alexander Volkov upsetting rising star Blagoi Ivanov to win the Bellator Season 10 Heavyweight Tournament. Volkov lost the Bellator heavyweight title to Vitaly Minakov by first-round knockout, and will now challenge the champion in an anticlimactic rematch.

BELLATOR 113 RESULTS: Emanuel Newton Wins Undisputed Title, Patricky Pitbull KO's David Rickels - 3/21/14

Bellator MMA Championship Tournaments presented Bellator MMA 113: Vegh vs Newton 2 on Friday, March 21, 2014, at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, KS. The main card aired live on Spike TV as Episode 4 of Season 10.

In the main event, new undisputed Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion Emanuel "The Hardcore Kid" Newton scored a split decision victory over now-former champ Attila Vegh to unify the interim 205-pound title with Vegh's world title. Newton will defend his undisputed title for the first time against the winner of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal at Bellator 120. Newton already holds a pair of victories over King Mo, but has never fought Rampage Jackson, who recently joined Bellator after defecting from the UFC.

Brazilian knockout artist Patricky "Pitbull" Freire, Polish submission specialist Marcin Held, and a pair of American Dereks, Derek Campos and Derek Anderson, advanced to the Bellator Season 10 Lightweight Tournament semifinals.
