UFC 127 RESULTS: Jon Fitch and BJ Penn Fight to a Draw, Michael Bisping Loses His Cool But Still Wins - 2/26/11 in Australia

UFC 127: PENN VS FITCH was held Saturday, February 26, 2011, at the Acer Arena in Olympic Park, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The main card aired live on PPV. Three preliminary bouts aired live on Ion Television and 2 preliminary bouts streamed live on

For the second time this year, a UFC main event ended in a draw. After 3 rounds, Jon Fitch vs B.J. Penn was ruled a majority draw. One judge scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Fitch and the other two judges scored the fight a 28-28 draw. It appears the two judges who ruled the fight a draw both scored the first 2 rounds 10-9 for Penn and the final round 10-8 for Fitch. While the second round arguably could've went either way, the first round clearly was Penn's. Fitch needed a dominant third round to tie or win the fight, and boy did he ever come through. According to FightMetric, Fitch landed 149 strikes in the third round, compared to just 2 (!) for Penn.
